The commander of Zone 35 Apure of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), G/B Leonardo Quintero Hernández, said Friday about the seizure of five firearms and the arrest of two citizens in the border crossing of El Amparo, José Antonio Páez municipality.
Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) assigned to DF-353 (Guasdualito) of the Apure Zone Command, in conjunction with the body of the Bolivarian National Police (CPNB) of migration, made the apprehension of two minors during inspection work at the Citizen Attention Point (PAC) Customs.
Among the seized weapons are:
1. Gun Thrsa 9 Bersa, Cal. 9mm.
2. Pisto Beretta pistol, Cal. .380.
3. Revolver Smith & Wesson, Cal. .38.
4. Revolver Cobra, lime. .32.
5. Revolver Smith & Wesson, Cal. .38.
In addition, 29 ammunition of various calibers were seized. The detainees moved by public transport from Maracay, Aragua state, allegedly to Colombia.
The case was notified to the Public Ministry to initiate the corresponding investigations. GNB reinforces its commitment to national security and the fight against illegal arms trafficking in border areas.
