Members of the Bolivarian National Guard detained 12 subjects in different procedures, in which they seized 2,670 cartridges of different calibers and 15 firearms, according to reports.
The largest number of cartridges were seized at the Citizen Service Point located in Vuelta del Cacho, Rómulo Gallegos municipality (Elorza), Apure. In that checkpoint the military searched a Volkswagen vehicle license plate WGPO47, in which they located 2,600 22 mm cartridges, according to a report from Detachment 352 of the GNB.
In this procedure, the two occupants of the vehicle were detained, identified as Eduardo Parra González, of Colombian nationality, and the Venezuelan Mayra Margarita Luque Muñoz, who will be charged with illegal possession of ammunition.
The other procedure was carried out in the Camino Real sector, Tubores municipality (Nueva Esparta), where the military seized seven firearms, including two AR-15 rifles, caliber 5.56×45 mm with no visible mark or serial number; two pistols (Pietro Beretta .22, Glock 9mm); two rifles (30/30, .22), and a 12-gauge shotgun, according to a report from the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit 71.
They also confiscated three rifle magazines, two pistol magazines, 70 cartridges of different calibers, four telephone sets, a motorcycle without a license plate, three outboard motors and three peñero-type boats.
In this procedure, they arrested four members of the structured organized crime group Los Tres Reyes, identified as: Shaqille Park (El Trinitario), Vicente Antonio Prieto Vásquez, José Jesús Vásquez Serrano (El Pure) and Leonel José García Cumaná (El Chino).
These people are related to criminal file No. MP-63227-2024, opened on the occasion of the interception last May of the Venezuelan flag vessel Aleppo, which was transporting 2,430 kilos of cocaine distributed in 80 bales, as stated at the time. General Richard López, head of the National Anti-Drug Superintendence.
In the Virgen del Valle sector, Piar municipality (Aragua de Maturín), Monagas, the military detained Luis Miguel Márquez Oliveros and confiscated a 12-gauge shotgun.
In the Guario 3 sector, Pedro María Freites municipality (Cantaura), they captured two subjects identified as David Javier González Núñez and Jesús Núñez, who were carrying a 44-caliber Pardner SBI shotgun and a 44-caliber Rexio shotgun.
Another similar procedure was carried out in El Marite, Maracaibo (Zulia), where they captured Lienzo Segundo López and Lienzo López, who possessed five firearms of non-industrialized manufacture, six cartridges and 11 pieces of various weapons, according to a report from Detachment 111 of the GNB.
