Global outage of Microsoft 365 platform has low impact in Panama

The failure of computer systems based on the Microsoft 365 platform, which has impacted numerous airports worldwide, has affected the passenger check-in process at Tocumen International Airport, Panamanian authorities reported.

The Civil Aeronautics Authority (AAC) reported that Panama’s air navigation system does not use the Microsoft 365 platform, so the impact of the computer problem worldwide only has an impact in Panama at the level of airline registration systems.

The staff of Tocumen SA’s Vice Presidency of Technology is working and providing support to resolve the situation in the short term.

Tocumen, SA recommends that passengers pay attention to the information provided by airlines and check the websites of these companies for flight updates.

It was also reported that Copa Airlines and other airlines operating in Panama are restoring service through other alternatives.

On the other hand, public institutions in Panama do not register major incidents, as reported by the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), which is working intensively on the State’s digital services to guarantee the efficiency and normal development of activities.
