The governor of Central Bank from the Dominican Republic, Hector Valdez Albizuhas been recognized as one of the best central bank governors in the world, according to the Central Banker Report Card 2024an evaluation carried out by the magazine Global Finance.
This prestigious recognition, awarded to Valdez Albizu last Saturday, October 26, positions the Dominican official with one of the qualifications highest among the governors of 100 countries in America, Europe, Asia and Africa, was highlighted in a statement from the institution that he directs.
The award was presented by Joseph Giarraputofounder and editorial director of Global Financein a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington DC, within the framework of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WBG).
During the event, Giarraputo highlighted the “battle against inflation” that Valdez Albizu has waged in recent years, achieving tangible results and promoting economic stability and monetary of their country.
Valdez Albizuwho earned an A- grade, was recognized alongside other central bank leaders such as Jerome Powell from the United States and Christine Lagarde of the European Union.
This is the second time that the Dominican governor has received this distinction, after also being honored in 2017.
Founded in 1987, Global Finance is one of the financial publications most influential worldwide, with a presence in 193 countries.
