The Swiss company Glencore began exploring a possible sale of its 23.3% stake in the Capital Stock of Volcan Compañía Minería SAA
Through a letter sent to the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SMV), Volcan pointed out that on February 15 of this year, they received a letter in which Glencore International AG has revealed that “in the fourth quarter of 2022 it has begun to explore the process of the possible disposition” of its shares in the mining company.
“In said letter, Glencore tells us that the process is subject to strict confidentiality and that at this stage it does not involve any director, manager or employee of Volcan or its subsidiaries,” said the mining company.
It should be noted that the Swiss company completed the purchase of Volcan shares in November 2017
For its part, Volcan Compañía Minera SAA suspended trading of its Class “A” and “Class B” Common Shares.
“We inform you that the trading of the Class “A” and Class “B” Common Shares of Volcan Compañía Minera SAA has been suspended,” the mining company reported.
