The National Action Party (PAN), lamented that the mayor of Santa Catarina, Jesús Nava, has resigned this Friday, May 21, from his militancy with the PAN; They will be attentive and vigilant through their councilors and trustees so that the management of this municipal administration responds to the demands of the citizens.
“Today the militant and mayor of Santa Catarina, Jesús Nava presented before the official party of the PAN State Steering Committee the resignation of his militancy as a member of our party, news of which we had knowledge until the moment of the presentation. of the writing”, indicates a bulletin of the PAN.
We deeply regret this decision by Mayor Nava, since the citizens of Santa Catarina demonstrated at the polls a little less than a year ago for a government emanating from the PAN, given the positive results we have had in that municipality for several three years.”
We hope that this decision does not affect the progress of the administration to the detriment of the citizens of said municipality”, underlined the PAN.
In turn, the municipal president of Santa Catarina, Jesús Nava wrote on his Twitter account: “I am a mayor who owes me to the people of Santa Catarina. Today I am not affiliated with any party but I will continue working and I will do what is necessary for our city to do well, governing well”.

The PAN added that its main concern is that the citizens of Santa Catarina have a government that meets and resolves their needs, therefore “we will be attentive and vigilant through our councilors and trustees in said city council, as well as local and federal deputies. who continue to be militants of the PAN, so that the leadership of this administration responds to the legitimate demands of the citizenry.
For his part, the senator from Nuevo León for the PAN, Víctor Fuentes Solís, assured, “that the misconduct of the National Action Party has caused the flight of important profiles and specific weights of Neolonese politics. The departure of Jesús Nava is only a reflection of the internal life of the PAN characterized by its closedness and the exclusion of those who think differently”.
He considered that the party “is kidnapped (…) and has moved away from its principles, it is closed and authoritarian”, which alienates its best cadres.
