Argentine midfielder Giuliano Galoppo said this Wednesday, in his presentation as a new Sao Paulo player, that “he will give his best” to take the Brazilian team “to the top.”
“It’s a nice challenge to be able to wear these colors,” said the former Banfield player at the press conference for his presentation.
Galoppo, 23 years old and considered a young promise of his country, signed a contract with the Tricolor de Morumbí for five years, until June 2027.
The operation was around six million euros, in what has been the most expensive signing in the history of the São Paulo club, according to the local press.
Galoppo assured that he “never” hesitated to come to Sao Paulo, to whose fans he promised to work hard to repeat those first years of the 21st century, when the club experienced one of the most golden stages in its history, with several league titles and the third Copa Libertadores.
“I think that’s the goal, to be able to do something like that again. We will work for that », she guaranteed.
Galoppo also cited Rafael Nadal as one of the “great figures in sport” that he draws inspiration from.
“Nadal is very important, I like him a lot because I see his ability to recover from mistakes, mental strength and that is something that helps one to make a path,” he explained.
“At the time I had a long injury that I was able to overcome and that is why I feel identified, I feel very strong and it is a great inspiration that I continue to see day by day”, completed the award-winning tennis player from Manacor.
The Argentine midfielder will coincide in Sao Paulo with his compatriot Jonathan Calleri, whom he said is a “very important player” and “an emblem” for the club.
“I hope to get on well with him, form a great duo and a great team, which is what will bring joy to all the people in the club,” he said. EFE
