Giuliani Named Target of Investigation for Possible Criminal Election Interference

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been named a target of investigation for possible criminal interference in the 2020 Georgia presidential election.

This was confirmed today by lawyer Robert Costello: Giuliani had gone from being a material witness to being an objective in the investigation for leading efforts to keep Trump in power.

Costello also said special counsel Nathan Wade told him about the former mayor’s change of appointment and said it could mean Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will bring charges against him.

Giuliani is scheduled to appear before a Special Grand Jury next Wednesday after delaying testimony last week so he could recover from a medical procedure.

In early July, Giuliani had two implants stents cardiac. He had not been cleared by his doctors to travel by plane.

Last week Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert CI McBurney gave him one more week to find another means of transportation to get to Atlanta.

Costello said in an interview that Giuliani would likely invoke attorney-client privilege if asked about his dealings with Trump. “If these people think he is going to talk about the talks between him and President Trump, they are delusional,” Costello said.

Giuliani laid out voluntary as well as discredited allegations about corrupt voting machines and poll workers who produced “illegal ballot bags” at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

At least 17 other people have already been designated as targets in the investigation, including 16 Trump supporters and state Republican officials who signed certificates claiming to be presidential electors.

A lawyer who served as special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during Trump’s first impeachment trial said designating Giuliani as a target means the former president is likely to do the same.

“There is no way that Giuliani is a target of the prosecutor’s investigation and Trump doesn’t end up as such,” attorney Norman Eisen said in an interview Monday. “They are just too entangled, in fact and legally.”
