Little Katyana LL. H., aged 5, was admitted to El Carmen Hospital three days ago with vomiting, due to a hydatid cyst lodged in her right lung, which ruptured, seriously complicating her health. Since then, the child has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), requiring surgery.
Yesterday, she was taken by land to the National Institute of Children’s Health (INSN) San Borja, managed by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), in coordination with the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) to receive specialized medical care.
The SIS will cover all expenses related to the transfer, treatment and recovery of the minor. The INSN San Borja will provide Katyana with the specialized care required for her delicate case, with a multidisciplinary team of highly trained professionals to deal with this complex medical situation.
