Mónica R., 34, experienced moments of terror early Tuesday morning when her ex-partner, Fernando B., 33, stabbed their daughter, a two-year-old girl, who was later thrown from a second floor in San Pedro. The little girl survived and is in intensive care fighting for her life.
“The man was at the height of the window frame on the second floor with half his body out, in his left arm he had the minor who was crying, he called his mother and his father, he asked her to let her go. to sleep but this man inflicted five wounds on the minor and later threw her out into the street,” the director of the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv), Jhonny Vega, reported yesterday to Página Siete.
The event that shocked the population occurred between 2:00 and 4:30 on Tuesday in a building in the San Pedro area, where Fernando B., a bank teller and ex-partner of Mónica, arrived. The man entered her apartment and the two had a strong argument, until the man stabbed her twice in the left leg, Vega added.
already had a record
After the discussion and the knife attack of her ex-partner, Mónica left her home, took a vehicle to ask for help from the Cotahuma Comprehensive Police Station.
When he returned to his apartment with the police, they found Fernando B. still standing on the edge of the window, holding his two-year-old daughter with his left arm, who would not stop crying and with his right hand he was holding on to the frame.
Alarmed by the scene, the neighbors came out of their houses. The man was still in the place in the midst of a heartbreaking cry from his daughter who begged to go with her mother and that she was also cold because it was raining.
In vain were the prayers of the little girl, the girl’s mother and her neighbors.
According to the testimonies, the violent man kept his girl at the window for more than two hours and during that time Fernando B.’s mother also came to the place, imploring him to calm down and not harm her daughter.
From inside the apartment, the policemen tried to persuade the man, but he “was blind” with anger, according to Vega, and in a careless moment he stabbed his girl five times and then threw her into the void.
“At 4:20 he inflicted five wounds on the minor: two in the neck, one in the left shoulder and two more wounds in the abdomen, then he threw her into the street and seconds later he inflicted two wounds on the height of the neck and also threw himself into the street,” Vega said.
A neighbor lamented that police and firefighters have not arrived with stretchers and other equipment due to the threat that the man will throw the girl.
After the incident, the girl and her mother were transferred to the Children’s Hospital in an emergency and later to a private clinic to be treated. The little girl’s mother is still in shock over what happened. Meanwhile, the aggressor was apprehended and then taken to the Hospital de Clínicas.
Personnel from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Felcv arrived yesterday at the Hospital de Clínicas where Fernando B. is hospitalized to take his statement, but the aggressor availed himself of the right to silence due to his “state of health.”
“We have identified the main author, that is why the Prosecutor’s Office is going to request his preventive detention for six months in Chonchocoro,” prosecutor Verónica Miranda told Unitel.
The Public Ministry announced that it will charge Fernando B. for committing two crimes: attempted femicide and attempted infanticide. In addition, the judge will be asked to send him to the Chonchocoro maximum security prison once he recovers from his injuries.
The Police reported that the aggressor already had a history of domestic violence due to a complaint that Mónica R. filed in April 2020, shortly after separating from him.
