The Cicpc reported the capture of the parents of a girl who died from an abortion that was performed on her in a clandestine clinic. The detainees are: Mariyuli Rodríguez Sánchez (44) and Rubén Jesús Palma Ibarra (53).
The parents took the pregnant woman to the Las Casitas sector, Guatire (Miranda) where they performed an incomplete abortion procedure, according to the scientific police report.
That abortion was performed by the gynecologist-obstetrician Ana Yelisbeth Álvarez Aranguren (43). The patient bled for several days until the doctor told her parents to take her to the Victorino Santaella hospital in Los Teques (Miranda) where she died.
As a result of the investigations, they also arrested Juan Carlos Martínez Betancourt (49), Maydelin Nayflor Martínez Rodríguez (23), (father and daughter), who were in charge of capturing pregnant girls to take them to have an abortion for 120 dollars.
