The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, affirmed that the position of those who promoted the violence and the coup d’état are not politically persecuted as the Undersecretary of State of the United States, Brian Nichols, would have the world believe.
“The promoters of violence and the coup d’état are speaking,” recalled Foreign Minister Gil on the X network, in clear reference to a statement by Nichols where he expressed alleged concern for those arrested in fascist acts and violating the entire order of national laws.
Through his X account, the Undersecretary of State indicated that, “(Nicolás) Maduro and his team have arrested thousands of Venezuelans since July 28 for exercising their fundamental rights,” to which Gil asked, “Which political persecuted? The Tren del Llano commanders? Who persecuted and beat innocent Chavistas?”
It should be remembered that the National Electoral Council declared President Nicolás Maduro the winner with 6,408,844 votes, well above the former far-right candidate, Edmundo González.
Carter Center blatantly lies
Foreign Minister Yván Gil rejected the statements of the head of the Carter Center mission, Jennie Lincoln, who denies the cyber attack suffered by the Venezuelan electoral system.
“Mrs. Jennie Lincoln is lying shamelessly, none of her words correspond to reality or Venezuelan legality,” warned the diplomat in X.
In this regard, Gil lamented that “all the work and prestige that President Jimmy Carter built is being thrown into the trash by this State Department employee.”
The Venezuelan foreign minister also described it as a disgrace to “include this institution in the plan for a coup d’état, supporting the execution of the most vile electoral crimes that we have seen in the republican era of Venezuela, committed by the fascist hordes. They will not return!”
