The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, accompanied by the president of the Simón Bolívar Institute for Peace and Solidarity (ISB), Blanca Eekhout, paid tribute to the father of the country in the Plaza Bolívar, on the occasion of completing 210 years of the emblematic letter of Jamaica.
“210 years later, the speech of the letter of Jamaica is in force … in that letter our path is pointed out and the way to follow by Latin American unity … points out our patriotic force,” said the chancellor in his statements.
In this regard, the diplomat invited the people organized to “meet in the spirit of the letter of Jamaica and today more than ever is necessary before the US threat in the Caribbean.”
He reflected that the American narrative against our country has become a real threat of danger, but that it is false to the forcefulness of government action against drug trafficking posters.
“Venezuela, like no country in the region, is dedicated to the fight against drug trafficking, which collapses the narrative of Washington … we throw from this land to the DEA, which is the main drug sign,” he said.
Additionally, he pointed out that “today we also celebrate the creation of the CELAC, which is inspired by the doctrine of Jamaica’s letter and that Celac, has mostly created a wall of dignity to imperialist aggression.”
Finally, he said that in Venezuela “we are willing to defend our dignity and our history … This is a gesture of defense of Bolivarianism. Peace is our north, it is all for what we have fought,” he said.
