Foreign Minister Iván Gil said that the president of Guyana, Irfaan Ali appeared at the UN with the same manipulative speech and the usual libretto, loaded with falsehoods and ignoring international law, by insisting on violating the Geneva Agreement and acting as the “Exxonmobil Administrator”.
«The president of Guyana again appears at the UN with the same usual libretto: a speech full of falsehoods, manipulation and submission to the interests of the empire and transnationals. He intends to show himself as a victim when he actually acts as an Exxonmobil administrator and heir to the British colonial guardianship, ”said Venezuelan chancellor in his social networks.
On Wednesday, the president of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, said in the UN General Assembly that deposits his full “confidence in international law” to “attacks and repeated aggressions from Venezuela. For us, the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and without interference should not be negotiated. We are not going to allow coercion, intimidation or unilateral action, ”he said.
Gil went out to remember that Ali speaks of international law «while he does not know the 1966 Geneva agreement, unilaterally resources in a territory in dispute and tramples the sovereignty that says he defends. That is a violation of the United Nations Charter, ”he said.
“The people of Venezuela are clear that the Esequibo is ours by history and by law, and it will not be the lie or the corruption of those who sell their homeland that changes that truth.”
