For 12 years the National Learning Service, SENA, has a technology that is unique in the country, it is the prosthesis and orthosis program, a space of hope and service.
The goal of this training is for future technologists to be able to develop and fit orthopedic devices.
And that, in turn, can contribute to improving the quality of life of patients with deficiencies and limitations in the locomotor system.
More than 400 people have been benefited by the program during its 12 years of creation.
“This program arises due to the country’s need to have a titled program that responds to the country’s armed conflict,” said Lina Marcela Flores, instructor and therapist.
Subsequently, patients who have suffered traffic accidents are also cared for.
Also those who are the product of a disease such as diabetes, suffer limitations.

In every corner, anatomy is expressed in all its dimensions, biomechanics, physiology, pathology and among others.
«The most gratifying thing is to see how the apprentice transforms his life at the service of others and as a person who requires a device; Those who have a need return to their daily activities with the work we have done between the apprentice, instructor and SENA”, said Fabián Pedraza, prosthetics and orthotics instructor.
This program is internationally certified and is only possible at SENA, free of charge for all Colombians.
