Gian Marco Castillo Gómeznephew of the convicted former president, Pedro Castillo, began working in Congress on April 16 of this year, exactly for the office of Roberto Sánchez Palomino, current presidential candidate for Together for Peru.
Castillo Gómez has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and receives a monthly salary of S/3,146.11 as an office coordinator. All this despite the fact that he has a summons with restrictions for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, and collusion and influence peddling for the Puente Tarata III case (Decentralized Provías case).

Nephew of Pedro Castillo in the Puente Tarata III case
The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that Gian Marco Castillo, together with his cousin Fray Vásquez Castillo and businessman Zamir Villaverde, operated to direct the work of the Tarata III Bridge in the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), specifically in Provías Descentralizado. The fiscal hypothesis is supported in part by the notes found in agendas linked to those investigated.
Gian Marco Castillo is accused of being part of an alleged criminal organization led by former president Pedro Castillo, which would have aimed to commit crimes such as influence peddling, collusion and cover-up.
The other crime of which he is accused is collusion and influence peddling, linked to the bidding process for the construction of the Tarata III Bridge, where the Tarata III Bridge Consortium allegedly benefited.
Given these accusations, the Judiciary initially ordered preventive detention against the former president’s relative. However, after a period in which he was a fugitive from justice, the Second Appeals Chamber of the Court of Justice of Lima revoked the preventive detention and ordered the appearance of restrictions.
The Judiciary has indicated that compliance with these rules is its responsibility and that the Public Ministry can request the revocation of the measure if they are not complied with.
