The Second Criminal Chamber ordered suspend the house arrest that councilor Manuel ‘Mamén’ had Saavedra by a court order, due to the process that follows him for the alleged case of “ghost propaganda” in which he is accused together with Rubén Costas and ‘Roly’ Aguilera for the alleged diversion of resources from the Government of Santa Cruz to finance the political campaign of the Democratic Party.
Mamen was under house arrest without a police escort, but with permission to work from 06:00 to 19:00 on Monday to Sunday, from May 26, when the member Walter Pérez ruled in his favor by granting him permission to leave his house and carry out his public inspection tasks.
This Tuesday, Mamen requested that the house arrest that he had between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. be suspended and the Second Criminal Chamber granted it.
“Today that situation (of arrest) was reversed, but the other measures are maintained; I have to go to the prosecutor’s office every week to sign and I am rooted, but from today I will have the opportunity to go out to work after 7:00 p.m., because the problems in Santa Cruz do not stop and I must monitor if possible until the early morning hours, “said the councilor to the media.
In this case called ghost propaganda, Saavedra is accused of the alleged crimes of reception from of crimes of corruption and legitimation of illicit profits.
