Geyssell García presents his social project: He commits to fighting for migrants

Nicaraguan Geyssell García, Miss Universe Nicaragua 2024, who will represent the country in the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, explained for the first time that her social project will be focused on the fight against poverty and improving the living conditions of migrants. in the world.

«Poverty and migration are two topics that have been linked to me since I was little, this because I am the daughter of migrants. My mother had to leave her place of origin for economic reasons and migrate to another country where she had to overcome many barriers. I had to help raise my younger sisters, along with my grandmother, and despite all those difficulties with a lot of effort I managed to get ahead, that is why today I am willing to help people like me who have experienced difficult situations,” García detailed when starting a video about the presentation of his social project.

Miss Universe Nicaragua 2024 argued that the “economic reality of this is clear, it is good for workers to go where the jobs are, it benefits all people near and far,” but recalled that there are also “less flattering impulses of human nature that “They direct us to reject the other as a stranger, as if we were not all coming from another place.”

«Orderly migration is optimal and can make a difference, highlighting the fact that from an economic and development perspective the smartest thing we can do as governments and companies is to invest in our human resources, regardless of their origin. Improving health, education and employment for migrant families is not only humane, but also solid financial advice,” said the representative of Nicaraguan beauty.
