Get to know the first expert tool for recording and forecasting trends in Peru

In this context, with the intention of collecting and providing objective and precise information to companies so that they can select the best mobility solutions; Arval Relsa, an operational leasing and 360 mobility company, presented its 2022 Fleet Barometer in Peru, the first expert tool for recording and forecasting trends in the fleet and mobility sector.

“This study was designed to capture key macro trends for the foreseeable future, thus helping all stakeholders who require it to better understand the new mobility paradigm that is constantly evolving, so that they can make timely and accurate business decisions”said Jaime Pinillos, general manager of Arval Relsa in Peru.

WHAT DOES THE BAROMETER VIEW ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SECTOR IN THE COUNTRY?

The executive also emphasized that the barometer prepares the sector to face a future with greater certainty. Likewise, he detailed the findings of this study in our country:

  • Quick adaptation. – In a changing context, a significant percentage of companies that have fleets show confidence and adaptability to the mobility policy in the midst of remote work.
  • Search for alternative solutions and evolutionary transition. Peru is in the process of adapting to electrical technologies as a mobility alternative, the same ones that are entering successfully gradually and positively. During this natural process of change, alternatives such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) continue to be considered as a still latent option.
  • Good future for operating leasing. – Despite the fact that self-purchase, financial leasing and automotive credit are the most widely used financing methods, half of Peruvian companies could introduce operating leasing in the future.
  • Greater preference for alternative mobility solutions. A large percentage of companies apply these solutions mainly as a complement to vehicles, without the need to replace them.
  • Great use of telematics. – With the goal of improving operational efficiency, driver safety and vehicle safety, more and more companies are collecting and analyzing their fleet data.
  • Diversity of financing processes. – The barometer reveals that today the financing processes in the country no longer respond to a single formula. Currently, the most recurring are purchases (44%), followed by financial leasing (23%), auto-credit (14%) and operating leasing (9%).
  • Peru, a country with a positive horizon in the development of its fleets. – In the last study it was discovered that a large part of Peruvian companies are optimistic about the future of their fleets in the midst of a changing context.

THE DATA: INNOVATION & DIGITALISATION

The Arval Mobility Observatory Mobility Fleet Barometer 2022 is a study based on a global sample. It was carried out in 26 European countries (Austria, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden ; in addition to the fleet markets of Russia, Turkey and Morocco) and Latin America (Brazil, Chile and Peru) between November 19, 2021 and March 11, 2022, with a total of 7,576 interviews at a general level and 257 interviews in Peru to various companies in the construction, industry, service and trade sectors.

For this independent survey, research firm Ipsos interviewed fleet managers, who were recruited over the phone using a combination of data collection models: a full phone interview or call-in recruiting to complete the online survey. In Peru, the survey was conducted between December 16, 2021 and March 9, 2022.
