The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) predicted that the weekend will be dominated by unstable weather conditions, with cloudy fields, humidity and rains of moderate to heavy intensity in some provinces of the country.
Saturday
For this Saturday, an increase in humidity is expected caused by cloud fields associated with a frontal system located to the north of the island and moderate northeasterly winds.
These conditions will generate cloudiness from the morning hours until the early hours of the night, with isolated showers and gusts of wind in locations in the northwest, north, northeast, eastern plain, Central mountain range and the border area.
The most affected provinces will be: La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez.
Sunday
On Sunday, cloudy remnants of the weakened frontal system and the northeasterly wind flow will continue to influence weather conditions.
Cloudy weather is expected in the afternoon and evening, accompanied by moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms in provinces of the eastern plain, the Caribbean coast, the border area and the central region.
Among the impacted localities are: La Altagracia, San Cristóbal, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Gran Santo Domingo, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Monte Plata, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat and María Trinidad Sánchez.
cool temperatures
Temperatures will remain pleasant to cool due to the time of year and the flow of northeasterly winds, especially in mountainous areas and inland valleys, where episodes of fog could be recorded. In addition, an increase in waves is expected on the Atlantic coast, so caution is recommended for boats.
