For the works to continue, The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá announced new closures on Avenida Caracas, which will mainly affect private vehicles. Pedestrians and TransMilenio buses will have safe and signposted passage.
As explained by Metro de Bogotá, Starting next October 5, the lanes for private vehicles on Caracas Avenue between 57th and 67th streets will be closed. in order to give continuity to the works. He added: “This closure facilitates the circulation of TransMilenio buses, taking into account that preliminary works are being carried out in the central lanes, to then give way to the construction of the viaduct.“.

1. North – South detours:
If you are travelling along Av. Caracas from north to south, you should take Carrera 19 at Calle 80, then Carrera 19A until Calle 61, where, following the signs, you can take Carrera 18 and continue in this manner towards the south of the city. If you are travelling along Calle 80 from west to east, you can take Carrera 24 south to reach Transversal 25 and thus continue along this road towards the south of the city.
2. South – North detour:
If you want to go from the south to the north of the city, at the height of 53rd Street, you must take the 8th Avenue until you reach 67th Street, at this point and following the signs, you can take the 9th Avenue and thus continue your journey towards the north of the city. Another option is at the height of 53rd Street, take the 17th Avenue north until you reach 74th Street, where you can turn right and then take the 15th Avenue north of the city.
3. Detour to the west:
Vehicles traveling west on 64th Street may take 13th Street and, at 60th Street, turn right onto 17th Street. There, they must turn left onto 64th Street and continue west.
