The brand new Army officer of the Infantry weapon, 24 years old, Gerson André Menéndez, was recognized for his good performance during his training at a military academy. In addition, he received an Army Academic Medal to the cadets who occupied the first positions in their respective arms and services, such as Menéndez Flores.
In dialogue with a local media, the young Peruvian Army officer said that his conviction for a military career was born when as a child he watched the raising ceremonies of the National Flag in the Plaza Constitución in Huancayo.

“I feel happy to have obtained this achievement in my training stage, it is an honor to begin my military career in this way, since it has been five years of great effort and is achieved based on the healthy competition that exists among the cadets every day,” said.
