Germany administered more than a million vaccines against the coronavirus in 24 hours, most doses of reinforcements, while the incidence of infections reflects a slight but continuous decrease, the authorities reported this Saturday.

About 1,050,000 people were inoculated this Friday, of which 915,000 received a third dose, reported the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the government agency responsible for the control of contagious diseases.

The institute added that at least 57.8 million people, that is, 69.5% of the population, received the complete guideline with the second vaccine, while at least 60.3 million people (72.5%) were immunized with at least one dose.

This in a framework in which the incidence of Covid-19 in seven days in Germany fell slightly again to 402.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The day before, the value was 413.7 and a week ago 442.7, while a month ago it had been 249.1.

The country registered 53,697 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours on Saturday, compared to 64,510 a week ago.

Experts estimate that the actual number of infections is higher since, given the large number of positives, public health centers and clinics cannot keep up with the notification of cases, at least in some regions, the news agency reported. Europa Press.

The RKI also reported 510 deaths in the last 24 hours related to the virus, when a week ago there were 465 deaths.

The entity estimates the number of people recovered from the disease at 5,368,300, while the number of deaths due to the virus or derived complications rose to 105,506 since the start of the pandemic.

The German government recently expanded nationwide restrictions for non-immunized people.

Those who have not been inoculated are practically confined by having access to non-essential shops, restaurants, places of worship and leisure, as a way to contain the fourth wave of Covid-19 and stop an eventual advance of the Omicron variant.

This sector of the population cannot meet with people outside of their family nucleus either.

A mandatory vaccination bill was also confirmed, which new Chancellor Olaf Scholz supports and which will go before Parliament to take effect in February or March.
