The Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) receives today as a new member the Doctor of Science Ulf Ziemann, from the University of Tuebingenaccording to official Cuban media.
Ziemann is medical director of the department of Neurology with a specialization in neurovascular diseases at the University Hospital Tübingen, according to a report of the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

“This scientist, of great international prestige in the areas of Neurology and Neurophysiology, has maintained a systematic collaboration with Cuban scientists since 2002,” the information points out.
Ziemann has directly collaborated with the group of professor Luis Velazquez PerezACC Chair, on the topic of Electrophysiology and Biomarkers for the prediction, early diagnosis, and monitoring of spino-cerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2).
Ziemann was elected to join the Cuban Academy in 2022 and upon his official incorporation he will give a conference related to his specialty.

The Cuban Academy of Sciences grants the category of Corresponding Member to foreign scientists with a recognized work in their country, and who have a proven contribution to science on the island through their collaboration or contributions, he told the ACN Marlene Durán y Dopico, ACC communication specialist.
