The German flutist and educator Michael Faust will offer a concert this thursday at San Felipe Neri room from Old Havana. He will be accompanied by several Cuban musicians and the presentation ends three days of master classes.
The recital is announced for 6:00 pm, as reported by the flutist Niurka González from Facebook. Gonzales is, in addition to being a coordinator, one of the instrumentalist’s guests.
He will also share the stage with Laura Valdéz Torrado, on the violin; Anolan González Morejón, on the viola; Sarah S. Gutiérrez Biraben, on the cello and Estela Adriana Pérez, on the piano.
Faus, who has performed on the island before, will perform chamber works written by Mozart, Bach and Doppler.
During her current visit, she has also offered three master classes at the Lyceum Mozartiano in Havana, as reported by the Cuban flutist herself.
In 2019, the German instrumentalist performed together with the Cuban guitarist Alejandro Acosta and the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba at their usual venue in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater
Michael Faust began his flute studies in Cologne and continued in Hamburg with the Philharmonic of that city. Since 1988 he has been a soloist of the Cologne WDR Symphony Orchestra, according to his Web page.
