The candidate for mayor of Lima for the Somos Perú party, George Forsythassured that if he wins the elections on October 2, he will remain in office until the last day of his term, unlike what happened in 2020.
“I am going to complete the management of Lima to the last. I feel like I have the energy, the strength, the youth, the preparation. I have been interim mayor, I have been mayor, I started as alderman. I have the professional preparation to give that energy and knowledge to my country”assured in statements to Canal N.
Forsyth responded in this way when asked how he could guarantee that he would not resign halfway through his term to run for another position, as he did when he was mayor of La Victoria and left office before two years had elapsed.
“They have my commitment to stay until the last day with the citizens, with the population working”, he assured.
However, the candidate for Somos Perú left open the question of what could happen in the coming years.
“Later on we will see what the future holds for me, but today my job is with Lima”he concluded.
George Forsyth officially resigned from the position of district mayor of La Victoria in October 2020 to be able to participate as a presidential candidate for the Victoria Nacional party, former National Restoration, in 2021.
