Morena renewed its national leadership yesterday and elected Andrés López Beltrán as Secretary of Organization, in addition to including proposals from governors and party leaders as part of the National Executive Committee. This is a generational change.
President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo was confident that the new leadership will do a great job. They will know how to guide our movement with principles and unity. We continue to make history.
he said on social media, after 3,000 national congressmen of the party voted for nine portfolio holders, and two more will remain in their positions. The new leadership will take office on October 1.
Luisa María Alcalde, the current Secretary of the Interior, was elected as party president instead of Mario Delgado. Carolina Rangel Gracida, close to the same senator and to the governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, with whom she held the positions of Secretary of Welfare, as well as of Substantive Equality and Development of Michoacán Women, was elected as general secretary instead of Citlalli Hernández. She was part of the aide to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. In the last elections, she ran for a federal deputyship, without winning.

Congressmen present at the World Trade Center pointed out that Martínez Núñez was proposed by Senator Félix Salgado Macedonio.
Manuel Zavala, Secretary of Social Movements, is close to Governor Layda Sansores.

López Beltrán was proposed for the post of Secretary of Organization by Héctor Vasconcelos, Mexico’s representative to the UN. The son of the President of the Republic was involved in the organization process in the 2012 and 2018 elections. He was responsible for the mobilizations against the energy reform, promoted by Enrique Peña Nieto, when his father suffered a heart attack in 2013.
In his acceptance speech, he highlighted that he is starting his career in Morena, But it makes me very sad to do so at the same time that our top leader is retiring. We all know that he will continue to be present in this party with his example, with his legacy.
He said that the president is retiring because there is a generational change. And I want us all to understand that when we talk about this replacement, we are talking about our president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum.
Lopez Beltran added.
In his last message as president of the party, Mario Delgado said that Morena It does not aspire to become an official party, nor a State party, and does not wish to relapse into authoritarianism and the monopoly of power.
