General blackout: Energy and Mines says 2,000 megabytes have been added

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santosreported on Tuesday night that the country has recovered around 62% of electricity generation, after the general blackout that affected the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI) from 1:20 in the afternoon.

Through a press releasethe official explained that until 11:30 pm about 25 generating plants had been incorporated into the system, providing 2,000 megawatts of energy.

The head of Energy and Mines specified that when a generating plant It leaves and re-enters the electrical system, its energy contribution is carried out gradually, not immediately at 100 per count.

Santos explained that the plants are incorporated gradually, and not at 100% of their immediate capacity, in order to guarantee the stability of the SENI and avoid fluctuations or overloads.

“The progressive synchronization allows each unit to inject energy in a controlled and safe manner, ensuring a orderly recovery of the electrical service,” he said.
