Gas Plan: oil companies ask to settle debt by the State avoiding paying AFIP

The Argentine oil companies, taking Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF) as their spearhead, plan to use the accumulated debt that the Government owes them for the gas plan as a tax credit to settle their tax obligations with the Federal Administration of Public Revenues.

This action by the main companies in the aforementioned sector is due to the fact that In July 2022, the Executive stopped paying the remuneration corresponding to producers within the framework of the gas plan, where it is stipulated that the Government, specifically the Secretariat of Energy dependent on the Ministry of Economy, it must provisionally cover 75%, the following month where the producing companies supply gas to the gas pipeline network, of the difference between the price of each company and the value of the fluid.
