Last Friday five people died from gas inhalation, events that occurred in Monagas and Táchira, according to the version of security agencies.
The breakage of a valve corresponding to a cylinder caused chlorine gas to spread throughout the La Orquídea de Maturín sector, Monagas.
The incident caused the death of a man who was in a junkyard. While 40 residents of the sector were affected, according to initial reports.
Agents from the Fire Department arrived at the site to attend to the contingency and provide assistance to the injured who were admitted to two hospitals with itchy eyes, among other effects.
The other incident occurred that same Friday, April 22, at the Bella Vista Residential Complex located in Pueblo Nuevo, San Cristóbal, Táchira. In an apartment in that development, four members of a family died due to a propane gas leak from the water heater, according to initial investigations.
Among the fatal victims is Franklin Zambrano (43), an official of the Bolivarian National Police, his wife Mariana Ruíz Ramírez (42) as well as the couple’s children: Robert Johan Zambrano Ruiz (16) and Adriana Alexandra Zambrano Ruiz (22).
Neighbors made the report to the authorities who went to the site to protect it until the arrival of a Cicpc commission that picked up the bodies. Security agencies are investigating the incident.
Before these two events occurred, a gas cylinder exploded in an apartment of the Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela located on Avenida Rotaria, Carora (Lara).
The explosion, which occurred last Thursday, caused injuries to three people identified as Magalis Gregoria González (49), Adda Josefina Suárez de Crespo (73) and Alpidio Suárez (86). All suffered burns in different proportions.
