The senator for the National Party, Jorge Gandini, assured on Saturday that in case of winning the “Yes” vote in the March 27 referendum there will be a “setback” for society.
For him, there is an intention to add votes for the next national elections, and that the victory of the “Yes” “would take away important instruments from us.” On the contrary, he understands that the victory for the “No” would reaffirm the political agenda of the government of Luis Lacalle Pou.
“We still ask the people, those who did not vote for us and those who are surely not going to vote for us, to let us finish the term. Who accompany us to carry out our government plan. We did not elect a president in this one, we will do it later, ”he added.
It is “against the government”, he says
In an interview with LARED21, Gandini reaffirmed days ago that “the LUC is a good law, it speaks for itself and contrasts with what is said.” And he added: “The weaknesses are that there are informed people, there are uninformed people who did not access the information and who do not easily find an opinion on a complex law, like any law. And then there are misinformed people, who have received misleading information, which is not consistent with reality. This forces us to raise claims that have been made, demonstrate their falsity, and in contrast, the positive effects of the text of the law”.
“The intention is to generate a defeat for the government, it is not against the LUC, it is against the government, it is against the changes in the government that the people put in with their vote,” he insisted.
