“Galla Empodérate”: Lawyer and influencer Paola Merchak launches legal book especially for women

After the success she has achieved on social networks, the lawyer, legal disseminator and influencer Paola Merchaktogether with the Zigzag publishing house, launched the book: “Galla Empower yourself” in which the professional pours all her experience as a Diploma in Business Labor Law, Diploma in Family Law, Family Mediator and Legislative Adviser in favor of women’s rights, from when they are girls to adulthood, to empower them on the issues How much impact do they have on your life?

“When I was a mother (3 years ago) I felt the need to create this book, so that my daughter could read it and use it in different parts of her life. But also because I believe that many women in the workplace suffer various forms of discrimination, especially if they are mothers. My motivation is to be able to help eradicate these practices, making women aware of their rights and able to exercise them. I always say “It’s not a favor, it’s your rights”that phrase characterizes me because knowing them is the first step to make them count”, says Paola, who is also a partner at the Law Firm De la Puerta Abogados, pioneers in maternity protection and women’s rights.

His closeness and complicity is evident and is reflected in all his legal outreach work. One of them started three years ago through social networks. through the account @mamajuridica on Instagram he began advising thousands of women. She already has more than 164,000 followers on Instagram who have received her advice, mostly women, who seek to know their labor, family and maternal rights. She always with a sense of humor and with the closeness of a friend who tells you what she knows with a sparkling wine in her hand, transforming her into a recognized influencer and speaker in various talks and conversations.

“There are lawyers who are looking for more traditional spaces to disseminate. In my case I think that the more women I can reach, the better and in today’s world, social networks are a very effective way to do it. Women of all ages have social networks and they pass the information on to each other, supporting each other and building a community. The same with the book, I think we can reach other women and those who follow me at @mamajuridica can delve into the issues, share the book, give it away and make it a tool for their working lives”says Paula.

In the book “Galla Empodérate”, Paola Merchak gathers and delves into everything that needs to be known so that nothing and no one happens to bring women’s rights, from birth to labor rights and maternity, including the rights of girls and reproductive. In the adult stage, the labor, family and maternal guarantees of women are also part of the book with topics such as maternal jurisdiction, right to a nursery, right to breast-feeding, prenatal, postnatal, among many others. All in a close language, ideal for understanding complicated topics “in easy”, also adding illustrations and humor.

“I want all women to understand their rights and not only know that they exist, but also how to defend them. Empowerment can even help the implementation of public policies to have a better country, more equitable in gender issues. That from childhood we know how the Law protects us and that when we go out to work we are not afraid of being perceived as bad professionals when deciding to be mothers and dedicating the time that this stage requires. That we can convince ourselves that by enforcing the Law, no one is doing us a favor, but only complying with our rights. If through my book I can help that, the effort will undoubtedly be worth it ”, she affirms.
