The Cuban ambassador to Spain, Marcelino Medina, met with the mayor of Oleiros (A Coruña, Galicia), Ángel García Seoane, with whom he discussed the shipment of material to the island on Thursday.
As reported by the City Council in a statement, the acting councilor – who will continue in office after winning the elections again – and the ambassador have held a working meeting.

“In order to cooperate with the Republic of Cuba, which is suffering a very adverse situation due to the terrible consequences of the criminal economic blockade perpetrated by the United States, the City Council recently sent various material from different public administrations in Galicia,” reports the Consistory.
He adds that the ambassador has thanked the sending of this material and the “cooperation provided historically” by the Oleiros City Council.
What is sent includes kitchen material, public furniture, computer, school and health materials and other elements.
Oleiros adds that the transportation and logistics expenses have been borne by Awen Worldwide, in a campaign in which the NGO Solidariedade Galega also collaborated for “purposes of social interest” in Cuba.
Medina also met with several businessmen, representatives of the Confederation of Businessmen of Galicia, to whom they presented business opportunities on the island.
