Santiago.- A strong gale accompanied by rains caused damage to homes, power lines and agriculture in communities in this province of Dajabón last weekend.
The felling of trees and considerable damage to banana plantations and other agricultural rubles were reported in the Vaca Gorda and Los Indios communities, in Partido
El Ventarrón affected the municipalities of Partido and Dajabón causing damage in the community of Vaca Gorda where it knocked down several zinc roofs, power lines and trees due to strong winds.
The families of the houses whose roofs came off or were semi-destroyed lamented that they also lost part of their trousseau due to the rains and the wind.
Miguelina Rodríguez, one of those affected and a resident of the Los Indios community, explained that the natural event destroyed a house that was just being built.
The affected families requested the help of the Government through the provincial governor of Dajabón, Rosalba Milagros Peña.
