The president of the Impeachment Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Carolina Gaillard (Frente de Todos) considered that “if the prosecutor Carlos Stornelli has good faith” he will attend that body of work on Tuesday in compliance with the summons that was made him to explain the reasons why he requested the closure of the case initiated to investigate the alleged leaked chats sent by an adviser to the head of the Supreme Court and a Buenos Aires official.
It’s about the chat between Silvio Robles, secretary of the head of the Court Horacio Rosatti, and the Buenos Aires Minister of Security on license Marcelo D’Alessandro.
“If he has good faith, he will come, and he will be able to explain; and if he does not come, it will be that he has something to hide,” the head of the commission evaluated in statements to Télam and in relation to the summons made for the next tuesday at 11.
The summons to Stornelli was decided and voted by the members of the commission, after the presentations made before that body by federal judges Alejo Ramos Padilla
He then indicated that “Stornelli is being summoned because he asked the judge -Sebastián Ramos- to archive the cause of the leaked chats between Robles and DÁlessandro, without requesting any measure of evidence.”
The summons to Stornelli was decided and voted by the members of the commission last Thursday 23after the presentations made before that body by federal judges Alejo Ramos Padilla, head of federal court 1 of La Plata, and Sebastián Ramos, in charge of federal court 2 of Comodoro Py.
Ramos was the magistrate who archive from the federal courts of Comodoro Py, and at the request of Stornelli, a complaint linked to the chats involving D’Alessandro with Roblesunder the argument that the evidence included in the complaint could have been obtained “through organized maneuvers based on illegal intelligence activities”.
In his opinion, Stornelli considered that “validating at this embryonic stage a possible advance in this process solely and exclusively based on elements that, according to the investigation, would have been obtained as a result of criminal activity, collides with the most basic and inalienable constitutional principles , and it would dye as illegal what is acted accordingly”.
The commission chaired by Gaillard will continue, with its meeting on Tuesday, the analysis of the evidence and new testimonies against the action of the highest courtwithin the framework of the hearings that body has been carrying out since the end of January, after President Alberto Fernández and a dozen governors promoted the impeachment trial against the members of the Court.
