The independent deputy, Gabriel Silva, referred this Thursday to Law 303 that creates benefit and collective interest companies, which was sanctioned on Monday by President Laurentino Cortizo.
The purpose of this law is to establish a legal framework for benefit and collective interest companies, which are those commercial companies whose main objective is to generate a positive impact on society and the environment while deriving their income from commercial activities, such as the sale of goods or services.
He explained that these laws already prevail in other countries such as Chile, the United States, Argentina and were lacking in Panama.
“This is a mixture between the private sector that seeks to generate income and the NGO sector, which seeks to make an impact. They are companies that want to make money, but by force, they positively impact the community, the social, the environmental, inequality or poverty” , he highlighted.
