The journalist and television host, Gabriel Pereyra, denounced this Sunday that he has been the object of “surveillance and monitoring” ordered from the high leadership of the Ministry of the Interior.

“The third head of the Police Intelligence Service ordered surveillance and monitoring tasks on my person,” Pereyra assured on his Twitter account, and affirmed that both the President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, and the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, “disclaimed responsibility.”

The journalist added that on Monday he will offer all the details of what he knows about it in the Informative Sarandí. “This Monday all the details in #InformativoSarandí. Surveillance and monitoring of journalists in democracy?. Will it be just @Gabrielhpereyra? Information and analysis tomorrow from 7 a.m.,” the official account of said newscast tweeted.

He has been critical of the issue of security, and has received Heber on his program En la Mira, a space in which they have had debates regarding the increase in violent crimes.

On other occasions, the communicator has been subjected to situations that would have attempted against his life. In June 2020, one of the most recent events happened: he received a death threat. The fact began to be investigated by the prosecutor of Flagrancia Rodrigo Morosoli and members of the Police Intelligence.

The case was filed in October of that same year.
