Authorities from the Social Security Fund (CSS) and representatives from the Ombudsman’s Office have held two follow-up meetings with members of the Committee of Relatives of Victims for the Right to Health and Life (COFADESAVI).
This meeting seeks to ensure that the quality of care, medication acquisition, reagent purchase and medical appointments of patients affected by diethylene glycol is maintained.
Gabriel Pascual, president of COFADESAVI, stated that the meetings they have held with CSS authorities have been friendly. “On the subject of certifications, nothing has been advanced, since the Minsa is responsible for determining and giving these resolutions, as for the Social Security Fund, medicines were guaranteed to patients, improving the subject of appointments and, above all, all how we strengthen all those attentions that afflict the affected population at the national level”, he highlighted.
“This issue of certifications has been delayed for years and we have asked the Ministry of Health, but through a complaint filed with the Ombudsman’s Office, so that in one way or another it is investigated whether the Health Evaluation Commission only investigates or analyzes CSS files or complements those of the Minsa, and there are patients who have been treated in private clinics,” he said.
