This was the second consecutive triumph for the team led by coach Dorival Júnior in the competition, which is close to the top positions with 21 points. Santos remains with 19 points.
Rubro-Negro showed efficiency, opening the score even playing in the opponent’s home. After a good plot between Marinho and Everton Ribeiro on the right, striker Pedro took it with a volley to overcome goalkeeper João Paulo in the 17th minute.
However, 20 minutes into the final stage, Peixe equalized in a free kick from midfielder Vinícius Zanocelo. But seven minutes later, Flamengo took the lead again when João Paulo rebounded on Pedro’s kick and Gabriel Barbosa took the opportunity to give final numbers to the confrontation.
