The senators considered that Cuadra has the credentials to assume the position as a member of the Governing Board and highlighted the commitment of President Claudia Sheinbaum to respect the autonomy of the Central Bank.
“The decisions that it would make in case of being part of the Governing Board would be a technical analysis of the country’s macroeconomic conditions, especially the inflation panorama,” Cuadra said Tuesday during his appearance in commissions.
Cuadra began its career in Banxico more than two decades ago, being an economic investigator within the Central Bank and monetary policy manager.
He studied the Economics career at ITAM and a doctorate at Rochester University.
