the elected president Gabriel Boric He affirmed that the ministerial undersecretaries of his future government will not be made up of militants of the Christian Democracy (DC), as is the case with his cabinet, in which there are no members of the phalanx.
“In the undersecretaries there are not going to be militants of the Christian Democracy either,” Boric said in a conversation with “Zero Tolerance”, of CNNChile.
“It is something that we have already discussed within the coalition and we also communicated it to the presidencies of the parties of the Progressive Convergence and this is not a sign of contempt, far from it,” added the President-elect.
“We come from different political projects. I think that the Christian Democracy has defined a position of collaborative opposition, they will have to ratify it in their internal discussion in the coming weeks, but it seems to me that the government must be given coherence,” Boric continued.
“Nor is it within our program new withdrawals”
The incoming President also closed the door to new pension savings withdrawals in his Government.
“We are going to make every effort so that workers never again have to pay for a global crisis with their own savings,” he said.
“Therefore, new withdrawals are not part of our program and on this we fully agree with Minister Marcel,” he added.
“It is not the solution for different reasons. One, because it continues to empty the savings of the workers. Two, because it destroys the Chilean capital market and that generates long-term effects, such as interest rates on mortgage loans,” emphasized the President-elect.
“Three, because it generates inflationary pressure that is totally undesirable for those who have the least”, he closed.
