The objective of the program is to introduce girls and teachers to science. Futuras Cientistas has four modules, the first of which is always during the school holidays. Participants have access to research laboratories and get to know the daily lives of scientists up close. They receive a grant of R$ 483.
Immersion will be promoted in 25 Brazilian states from the 3rd to January 31st. The exceptions are the states of Acre, with scheduled activities of January 20 The February 17thand Pará, from 6 to February, 24; considering the academic calendar of the two federative units.
Of the available places, 160 are intended for students enrolled in regular schools, 160 for full-time, semi-integral or technical education students. The professors will have 150 vacancies and, in the general scope, 10% of the vacancies are intended preferably for people with disabilities.
Futuras Cientistas is a program of the Center for Strategic Technologies of the Northeast, of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations, which has the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. In its 10 years of existence, 205 students and teachers from public schools in Paraíba, Pernambuco and Sergipe have participated in the program.
