Brazil beat Costa Rica 5-0 on Tuesday (24) at the Bukhara Universal Sports Complex in Uzbekistan and qualified for the quarterfinals of the Futsal World Cup. In the next stage of the competition, the Brazilian team will return to action at 9:30 am (Brasília time) next Sunday (29) to face the winner of the match between Iran and Morocco.
“We are always trying to reinforce the importance of winning without conceding goals, of always distancing ourselves from the possibility of reversing the score during the match. We are now entering a moment of emotional tension, in which the athlete’s head has to be in good shape,” declared coach Marquinhos Xavier.
Brazil’s triumph was built with goals from Marcel, Felipe Valério, Leandro Lino and Neguinho (twice).
