The Challenge Furnas Conecta – Startups notice, launched by the Eletrobras subsidiary, will receive applications until December 23 for innovation projects, focused on startups (emerging companies) and technology-based companies. In total, the notice will allocate R$ 3 million to selected projects.
The initiative intends to identify innovative proposals in three themes: Energy reliability, Green hydrogen and Energy price. The event has a partnership with the National Service for Industrial Learning of Rio de Janeiro (Senai/RJ) and is supported by the Energy Future electric sector innovation platform.
According to the manager of Research and Development (R&D) Projects at Furnas, Luciana Iulianelli, the more projects registered, the better. “Every startups can participate. It is desirable that they participate so that we can have a large number of proposals for innovative projects, so that we can choose those that will best meet what Furnas wants to develop”. Applications must be made at the site of Energy Future.
“Furnas is launching a new challenge. The company is looking for artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, innovative solutions that generate an innovative service or process, and generate value for the company and society,” said Luciana.
Thematics
In the Energy Reliability category, the objective is to find projects aimed at developing new technologies or monitoring tools (remote and real time) of conditions that may affect the availability of transmission lines.
On the green hydrogen theme, the idea is to find solutions and tools related to the operation and maintenance of a green hydrogen plant, which includes energy and non-energy applications of hydrogen, framing proposals that reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and lead to consequent decarbonization of the electrical matrix.
In the third category, Energy Prices, Furnas seeks artificial intelligence solutions to predict the energy price for the following month, based on market information, associated with the weather forecast maps.
Schedule
From January 3rd to 21st, Desafio Furnas Conecta – Startups will evaluate the proposals presented. The selection of classified projects will be from January 31st to February 18th. The three winning projects, one in each category, will be announced on March 15th.
