For urologist Pablo Mateo, donating means advancing and showing solidarity with the country’s future urologists, which is why the Dominican Foundation of Urology (Fundouro) Doctor Pablo Mateo donated technological equipment that will serve as a work element for the Urology residency at the Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital, with the purpose of helping to train young urologists, and thus have well-trained professionals.
The donated equipment was received by Dr. Dencil Pérez, Head of the Urology Department of the Moscoso Puello Hospital, and consisted of a laparoscopy simulator, which is used to learn how to perform surgeries through very small incisions, both in women and men, such as kidney tumors or cancer, cysts, stenosis or congenital malformations, and for men, prostate cancer. As can be seen, by learning this technique, the urologist can perform a large number of surgeries that benefit the patient, since recovery is much faster and they can quickly rejoin daily life.
Today most surgeries in the area of urology are performed in a minimally invasive way. “Bliss donation is a humble contribution from the Dominican Foundation of Urology to the Urology residency at the Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital, with the commitment to stand in solidarity with my future urologist colleagues, and let them know that they have an ally, and in this way contribute to better training for that they are more up-to-date when facing the future, said Urologist Pablo Mateo”.
