The nutritionist and president of the Fundación Panamá Saludable, José Ramiro López, referred this Thursday to an initiative that they presented before the National Assembly to establish compulsory teaching of the subject of Health Education in schools.

Said initiative was presented on April 7 and was rejected by the Assembly of Deputies, on the grounds that it should be sent to the Executive.

López explained that they are working to improve this regulation that seeks the well-being of students from 2 to 19 years old (preschool to the first year of university).

He stated that within a few weeks they seek to present this plan to the Ministry of Education (Meduca).
