On Wednesday, for example, Panamericana TV broadcast a video where Martha moyano, congressman from Fuerza Popular, during a meeting with the transporters unions. She is listened to inciting them to block tolls in protest and “cause the chaos of history.”

In this context, and given the public condemnation of the aggression, yesterday the Public Ministry reported that the head of the First Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Santiago de Surco-Barranco, Óscar Quevedo Salaverry, will take over the case of the attack on Yonhy Lescano. * The third provincial criminal office of the Second Criminal Corporate Prosecutor’s Office of Cercado de Lima, Breña and Rímac investigates the organization La Resistencia and others for the violence unleashed before the National Elections Jury (JNE).

Unanimous rejection
The Peruvian Press Council (CPP) and the National Association of Journalists (ANP) expressed their rejection to the intimidation and harassment of the reporters who are investigating the violent far-right organizations linked to Fujimorism and asked the prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Avalos, and to the ministers of Justice, Hannibal Torres, and from the Interior, Avelino Guillén, who take action to stop the wave of threats that disrupt professional journalism.
Lawyers Julio Arbizu and Carlos Rivera recommended how the Public Ministry should investigate aggressive groups. “It would be much more convenient for the Prosecutor’s Office to accumulate investigations into the different criminal acts of this group, and undertake a single rigorous investigation on the modes of action in the group and of each of its members because they are behaviors that are repeated,” argued Arbizu .
“(The Prosecutor’s Office has) a very bad strategy. There are different cases against Francisco Sagasti, Avelino Guillén, the attacks on the head of the ONPE, the president of the JNE and now to Yonhy Lescano. What it shows me is that there is a systematic action that has been escalating with methods of violence, which is demonstrated in the case of Sagasti with the use of firecrackers, that had not happened. Not only do we now have an organized group, but they are deciding to take a violent path in terms of the attacks and that is why I consider that what best corresponds now is not that there are 7, 8 or 10 investigations in different prosecutor’s offices in Lima, but what It is for a provincial, not a district, prosecutor’s office to undertake this investigation and add up the set of facts, ”said Carlos Rivera.
