SANTO DOMINGO.– The match People’s Force (FP) This Monday he swore in the new members of his Political Direction and announced the call for a national march the next November 30in support of social demands in the face of the situation of “crisis and uncertainty” that, they say, the Dominican Republic is experiencing.
The announcement came during first official meeting of the organization after the internal elections of the past October 3where they were ratified Leonel Fernandez as party president, Radhamés Jiménez Peña as vice president and Antonio Florián (Peñita) as general secretary. The swearing-in was carried out by the president of the National Electoral Commission of the FP, Henry Meran.

At the same event, the new elected members of the Political Directorate also took the oath: Juan Bautista Gómez Almánzar, Jesús Antonio Féliz Féliz, Marcos Genaro Cross Sánchez, Rafael Guillermo Guzmán Fermín, Felipe Payano, Raúl Arturo Martínez Martínez, Ángel Danilo Terrero Fortuna, Víctor José Díaz Rúa, Hamlet Werner Vladimir Otañez Tejada and Modesto Reyes Valentín.
During the meeting, the leadership approved the holding of a peaceful march to express what they consider a citizen response facing problems that they claim have worsened under the current government management.
Among the points that motivate the demonstration, the FP highlights:
- The high cost of livingwhich puts pressure on lower-income families.
- The increase in insecurityaffecting neighborhoods and communities.
- The frequent blackoutswhich they attribute to planning failures in the electrical system.
- The shortage of drinking water in both urban and rural areas.
- The instability of the exchange ratewhich decreases economic confidence.
In the opinion of the opposition party, these situations deteriorate quality of life of the population, while accusing the government of lack effective solutions to face them.
