The Vice Minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, reported this Friday that the government is maintaining its efforts through the extraordinary subsidy plan that has allowed fuel prices to be frozen for almost a year.
Pérez Fermín explained that the WTI price presented an increase of more than 4% in relation to the average of the previous week, the closing of operations per barrel ranged between US$78.06 as the minimum value, and US$80.14 as the highest quoted value. “As in recent weeks, the marked variation in supply and demand, as well as the availability of inventories, continue to influence refined products such as diesel and gasoline to behave with a price that is markedly differentiated from that of WTI” , said.
“In the face of this atypical international panorama, but which has already lasted for about a year, the government of President Luis Abinader has firmly and responsibly launched the extraordinary subsidy plan with which we have managed to keep prices stable for all fuels freezing their prices for almost a year. During this severe crisis, our country, which does not produce oil, has maintained full supply and stable prices, which have remained unchanged for almost a whole year,” added the vice minister.
In this sense, for this week and from February 18 to 24, 2023, once again, all fuel prices are frozen. This week the Dominican Government assumes a sacrifice greater than RD$357.8 million by avoiding increases in Regular Diesel for RD$29.27, Optimal Diesel for RD$28.68, Premium Gasoline for RD$16.96, and Regular Gasoline for RD$16.40.
