Several fuels are falling in price in the Dominican Republic

The Vice Minister of Internal Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín, announced today that the government will allocate 118 million pesos to the subsidy of fuels for next week, in order to keep prices stable.

During the usual weekly announcement, Pérez Fermín explained that the conflicts in the Middle East have increased volatility in oil prices, but the government will remain attentive to what happens in the international market.

“We have constantly monitored the impact of these tensions on the crude oil producersand we have made the decision to continue subsidizing the fuels to prevent these increases from having repercussions on the Dominican economy,” he said.

The extraordinary subsidy will allow the price of the product to remain unchanged. liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), with a contribution of 12 pesos per gallon, as well as the diesel regular, which will receive a subsidy of more than three pesos per gallon. “The objective is clear: not to pass on international increases to consumers,” said the vice minister.

For next week, the fuel prices They will remain mostly unchanged, except for slight adjustments in some products.

  • Premium gasoline: 290.10 pesos per gallon, unchanged.
  • regular gasoline: 272.50 per gallon, unchanged.
  • Diesel regular: 221.60 per gallon, unchanged.
  • Diesel optimal: 239.10 pesos per gallon, unchanged.
  • Avtur: 183.40 pesos per gallon, down 0.67.
  • Kerosene: 211.90 pesos per gallon, down 0.90.
  • Fuel oil #6: 157.40 pesos per gallon, up 1.40.
  • Fuel Oil 1%S: 171.34 pesos per gallon, up 1.36.
  • liquefied petroleum gas (LPG): 132.60 pesos per gallon, unchanged.
  • Natural Gas: 43.97 pesos per m³, unchanged.

The week’s report reports on the exchange rate average used to calculate prices, which was 60.25 pesos for every dollar, according to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs.

“With these measures, the government reaffirms its commitment to protecting the economic well-being of Dominicans, absorbing the external pressures and guaranteeing stability in the prices of fuels in the country,” he indicated in a note.
